![]() INTER COUNTIES FELL RUNNING CHAMPIONSHIPS SELECTION:
The selection race for the Intercounties championship is now set at Belstone on 30th Mar Entries are now open Check the SW fell running website for the link to enter HTTPS://swfellrunners.uk This is the selection race to represent Devon or Cornwall at the British Intercounties at Horton in Ribblesdale (Pen Y Ghent race) on 14th June . Selection criteria are as follows The first 4 eligible runners from male and female will be offered team places to represent Devon AA at the British Intercounties at Horton in Ribblesdale on 14th June. To be eligible they should be a member of Devon AA affiliated club and an EA registered athlete. For the senior team, an additional place will be offered for the first U20, ( so making team of 5). If anyone is unavailable or declines their place it will be offered to next best placed eligible runner from selection race. If athletes are unable to attend at short notice a place will be offered to an inform Devon eligible EA registered athlete at the Team Managers discretion. Note athletes will travel at own expense. Devon AA are prepared to cover the entrance fee of £14 per athlete - £70 per team of five for a male team and a female team . Total £140 max. We are hoping to enter a male team and a female team with a max of five runners in each team. We are not giving medals for this selection event The selection race for the juniors who wish to represent Devon at the juniors fell running Intercounties at Clougha Pike on 21 June will take place on Sunday 20th April. Details are on the SW fell running website - see above Intercounties selection criteria for juniors : The top two or three Devon affiliated runners who are at a Devon AA registered club and EA or Fell runner affiliated are offered a place to represent Devon at the Junior fell running Intercounties . If they are unavailable or decline we offer team places to Devon affiliated in-form runners to complete a team of three runners . If an exceptional runner is unable to compete at the championships they should inform us in advance and be offered a place at the Team Managers discretion. We are hoping to enter teams in both male and female U15 , U17 and U19 inter county races. Athletes are asked to cover entrance fees and travel costs. Devon AA are happy to provide medals for junior athletes that are racing for Devon AA registered clubs that finish first , second or third in their age group race. If entry numbers are low only gold medals will be awarded. Check out the SW fell runners website for details of the summer series . There are ten races in total with a great awards evening at the end of the series. |

DEVON COUNTY CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPS: Held in conjunction with the Westward League fixture held at Exhibition Fields, Exeter on the first/second Sunday of December each year. Devon also select teams for the South West Inter County Champs held on the first weekend in January each year and for the CAU Inter Counties Champs held in March each year. |

“Do you have keen runners interested in competing for Devon in British Junior Fell Inter-counties. It’s a long way to go - so keen aspirant hill runners? Will mean a very early start? as unfortunately is all the way to Glossop, but a great course and will be very competitive with best Cumbrian, Peaks and Yorkshire runners.
